What Steelhose should I start with?
For Veteran Loaded Movers, the 25 LB is a popular and versatile Load, pairing well with BASE8 and ELEV8 movements in all work areas. For new Loaded Movers, the 25 LB is best applied for Solo Base Movements including Squat, Lunge, Press, Bridge, and Carry in the BackRack, Zercher, Chest, BackScratcher, Rifle, and Nozzle Loads because the body and trunk assist in stabilizing the Load in addition to the Grip.

FAQs
What does Steelhose feel like?
If you're a firefighter, Steelhose feels like firehose charged and pressurized with water. When you pull resistance on the Grommet with a band or webbing, you can add that feel of a couple hundred feet of hose hauling behind you. For the rest of us non-firefighters, Steelhose feels like nothing we've ever felt before and it's awesome for developing every kind of strength. The hose is semi-firm with a slight give in your grip due to its "fluid steel" filling and a layer of synthetic rubber, however it sustains its form throughout its length. The nylon-polyester fabric has friction in your grip and doesn't feel cold and metallic like hard steel, but it does provide a challenge given the hose width. See our Steelhose Continuous Resisted Movement (Scrēm) Protocol for all the ways you can grip hose in hand and load it onto your body.
Can I take my Steelhose outside? Can it get wet?
YES! Steelhose loves the outdoors. After all, it's firehose, so it's friendly with the elements. You can even store Steelhose outdoors, although for long term durability, it is best to have under cover for storage because eventually (over years) moisture can seep into the seams and oxidize the steel shot. You can immerse Steelhose in water, and then dry immediately following use, and you can use Steelhose to train in the rain, no problemo. Just allow to hang dry so it doesn't sit soaking wet for long periods. If you will work regularly indoors and outdoors with your hose, we recommend having an indoor and outdoor stack, so that your indoor stack stays clean and fresh.
What makes Steelhose movement, and FitFighter programs, totally unique in strength training?
We are unique in 3 specific ways:
1. Using the fluid steel form of Steelhose, we are able to transition our load smoothly from one position to another in infinite patterns and combinations. It is in this transition that optimize the value of movement with external resistance.
2. Our hardware system is the most mobile and versatile there is, made from nearly the densest and most durable material in the world, “fluid” steel, and Steelhose stacks up super small. Therefore, we can teach hundreds of students or members at one time, anywhere they are.
3. We created a complete teaching protocol for movement skills & strength development using only Steelhose apparatus, starting at age 8. Peruse the Protocol at the bottom of Shop page and in the Letter from Sarah.
How do I clean my Steelhose?
You can use a damp cloth and any standard fabric cleaner or soapy water to wipe down your Steelhose after use or clean it off. The exterior is nylon/polyester fabric so it will capture limited grime and also won't absorb it as a cotton material would. Give it a scrub anytime it needs and hang dry. Avoid stacking Steelhose tight when soaking wet so it has a chance to dry out. It's firehose, so it's friends with water.
